A typical "Saturday Sabbath" conversation with a friend/family member:

Point: "Why are you keeping Sunday holy, when the bible says Saturday is the sabbath?"

Objection: "Huh? Sunday is the sabbath."

Point: "The bible says to keep the SEVENTH day does it not? Look at your calender, it starts with Sunday." *Some NEW calenders start with Monday, find both for comparison*
Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work...

Objection: "Oh. Well God doesn't care what day I keep, as long as I keep one holy."

Point: "He does care, there are lots of examples in the bible where people were punished for NOT keeping it, and others are blessed FOR keeping it."
Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. -AND-
Exodus 31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
-AND-
Isaiah 56:6,7 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Objection: "Well, there must have been some historical mix up or something. Billions of churches can't be wrong."

Point: "No, Catholic church did that on purpose, and almost every other church assimilated their doctrine. They even admit changing the day from Saturday to Sunday."
Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. -AND-
"The Catholic Church,... by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday." The Catholic Mirror, official organ of Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893. -AND-
"The Pope has the power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ." "The Pope has the authority and often exercised it, to dispense with the command of Christ." Decretal, de Tranlatic Episcop. Cap. (The Pope can modify divine law) Ferraris' Ecclesiastical Dictionary.

Objection: "No, no, the Catholic church changed it in honor of the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus would accept that."

Point: "They can use whatever reason they like, but God will not accept it; the law cannot be changed. Adam and Eve kept the sabbath, and we will keep it in heaven as well."
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. -AND-
Isaiah 66:22-23 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

Objection: "If what you say is true then billions of people will go to hell because of this, and that would make him cruel. It seems like a pretty arbitrary rule. Why would he care which day?"

Point: "It's a point of obedience. You keep the REAL sabbath, in spite of everyone else, because he asked you to (in his 10 commandments), and to show him you love him. It is a sign between you and him, and if you choose to keep Sunday instead, knowing it is NOT the day he ASKED you to keep, then you are consciously rejecting him."
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. -AND-
Ezekiel 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.

Objection: "As I said before, there could've been mix ups in the calenders over the last thousands of years. There's no way anyone could know for sure which day is which now. And the bible doesn't specifically say to keep Saturday, it just says the number of the day."

Point: "The dates have changed over the years, sure, but days of the week have always stayed the same. Just look at the Jews, they've kept the Saturday sabbath unbroken, farther back than historical records even go. And if you want biblical evidence, ask yourself what day did Jesus rise from the dead? Now read these bible verses."
Luke 23 55,56 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Luke 24 1-3 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. -AND-
Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. -AND-
"There has been no change in our calendar in past centuries that has affected in any way the cycle of the week." James Robertson, Director American Ephemeris, Navy Department, U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C., March 12, 1932.

Objection: "If this was all true, then God would have warned us somehow, and made it very plain in the bible that the Sabbath was going to be such a big issue in the end times. How come I've heard nothing about this until now?"

Point: "You haven't heard because most of the world is deceived. Very few people know the truth right now, and only a remnant will actually accept the truth and choose to keep the 4th commandment, when the rest of the world won't. And God did make it plain; the 4th commandment is unique in that it is the ONLY one that has the word REMEMBER in front of it."
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and many shall be deceived -AND-
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. -AND-
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Objection: "I'm still not convinced."

Point: "Seed planted."

lol amen to that. they can't unhear what ya said Laughing

from my experience,
"Jesus resurrected on Sunday, that makes it the sabbath."
"The disciples kept it holy, Acts 20"
"Light was created on day 1, Jesus is the light, so day 1 is holy"

Respond, show me in the Bible where it says Sunday is the day Jesus arose. And wait for it...

Most, if not all of the times I have preached about the Sabbath, the other person objects because they do not believe the law of God to be for Christians to keep.

"Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God." Isaiah 50:10.
