As I was driving past the market but where I work I saw a homeless man sitting on the side of the road

And, I'd helped this guy out so many times before and no thought came to my mind about helping him ever

But today as I was driving into the store parking lot this thought went through my mind. Like "You he is not homeless",

"Why are you helping", "Why does this have to be in front of the store this day", and "Just ignore him drive past him".

In just in a matter of a few milliseconds these thought were going through my head as I was driving into the parking lot.

I already know that was satan whispering this non-sense into my ears.

But as those thoughts went through my mind there another set of thoughts going through my mind as well

1. Who am I to Judge this man, who I know not,why have thought as going through my mind

2. Why do I have thoughts to not hold a hand out for my brother in need

3. When having dirty thoughts as this only comes from the law of in my flesh which is condemning me to the other law in my member that has nothing in righteousness with God

4. For I know not this homeless mans situation for whether he is or is not has no concern of you because you know not his situation.
So if it is true that he is not poor, I should not be concern for it is God, who knows. His situation not I.

5. If it was reversed I would want him to help me, so why doubt something which is a duty given to me to love my brother as myself. Isn't this homeless man my brother isn't he asking for my help
Then submit my mind to that which satan wants. do that which the Lord would want not which satan wants.

The Lord help me through that because I was about not to help that the homeless man, but thanks to the Lord I was able to help my brother I believe this maybe something we all deal with all the time
Thank you God for your mercy which I am never truly deserving off.

Praise The Lord Brother!

Words of Advise: If you accept it as one.

A).I'm not sure if the homeless man is a Christian or not but he's your neighbor not brother. A brother is one who is in the faith and is likeminded.
Galatians 6:9&10"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith
."

Neighbor is everyone but those of the faith is our brother and sister in Christ.

B). I'm glad that your helping the homeless man out but we must always remember our job as Christian through Christ is to help others get on their feet and hope they will start learning to lean and trust upon the Lord more as well as work with their own hands so they can be a blessing to other.

Hopefully a thought that should develop in our mind is Lord help show me how to help them get on their feet and start learning to depend on you more whether that's helping them get a job and etc... Not just sharing the truth but doing other little things too that will help them get on their feet and rely on God more.

Ephesians 5:15&16"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."

Basically we want the person to live an elevated life not stay in the position they're still in.

There's a difference b/w the poor and homeless is hard to explain but bear with me. Is in the mindset and attitude. A homeless person may stay in that comfort zone of depending on others to provide them with their needs instead of accepting the opportunity to be able to stand on their feet again.

A poor person just needs help to get back on their feet and little by little establish him or her self and hopefully be able to help others along the way. The poor may be struggling getting certain life necessity but are determined to work, be productive and help out others to the best of their ability.

Revelation 2:8&9"And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; 9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."

The Church of Smyrna during that time period may have been in physical poverty but they weren't complacent but hard workers determined to get the job done.

This is why the bible encourage us to take care of the poor, fatherless and widow BUT especially those of the house faith b/c they are looking to elevate their life so they can glorify God more.

I could be wrong or misunderstood so please be free to correct me.

Thanks for sharing and taking the time to read.

God Bless! Smile

Amen. Well said. As the teaching goes, teach a man to fish and he'll feed himself for a lifetime.

Thank you Sis and no you were not misunderstand you were clear and to the point I never finished the the post because I had work things to take care of but this situation reminded me of when Paul was speaking to the Romans in Chapter 7 of the book of Romans verse 18-25

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present
with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I
would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would
not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that,
when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God
after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the
law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my
members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this
death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I
myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Which is proves Gods words truth because I had to battle with my own self just to do something I have been do all the time.

Also thank you sis for clear that out for me. With the neighbor and Brother thing. I was already aware of the difference between a brother and neighbor I was worried that someone would get the wrong point in that post. The verses you gave much more to the point than the ones I would have used.

But this is an area I truly feel all need to grow at those voices that speak to you, when you know you are doing something right by the word of God if its contradicts or conflict of you test it through scripture. Because God never lies to you neither is he the author of confusion

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. Razz
